Crufts 2012

Harley was the first of the puppies to be born and as such was given the name Alfred but shortened to Fred.  He was a lively puppy who enjoyed playing with the others.

When he was seven weeks old he crossed the Severn Bridge to live with Fran, Norrie, Brett and Tamzin Petersen and has enjoyed running in the Welsh hills ever since.

We met Harley at the Midshires Championship Show in August 2010 when Fran was asked if she was going to show him.  We explained what this entailed and Fran was keen to give it a go!!

So on Saturday 10th October Harley and Fran stepped into the show ring.  They did really well with Harley being placed 2nd in Minor Puppy Dog, this qualifying for Crufts 2011.  He was also placed in the Pup of the Year Contest.

Having got the show  bug  Harley and Fran took part in the Bearded Collie Club Championship Show in December under judge Mrs Brenda White
3rd in Minor Puppy Dog, 2nd in Puppy Dog, 2nd in Maiden Dog and 3rd in Debutant Dog.

In February 2011 Harley met Buddy, Lucy, Auntie Amba  and Auntie Pickle at the Midshires Open Show when he was placed 3rd in Junior and Novice Dog under judge Emma Bird.  He had great fun meeting  his relatives but left before the fun in the mud!!

All this time Harley had been enjoying his runs in the Welsh hills and rolling down them!!  He also enjoyed bones and tuggies!!

10th March 2012 was a special day for Fran and Harley.  They stepped onto the  green carpet at Crufts and won the  Under-graduate Dog class.

Harley enjoyed his show career but found the pull of running in the hills and playing with his friend Willow to great to continue.  He just loves being a fun-loving Beardie!!
